Amani Williams was promoted from assistant coach and named head coach in October of 2023.
In her first year as a head coach Amani Williams was named SIAC Coach of the Year, where she finished the regular season 19-6 (.760) and 15-4 (.789) and earned the 2023-24 SIAC Regular Season West Division Title. She kept her team ranked on the Division II College Sports Communicators South peaking at fourth in South Region Media Poll.
The SIAC named Williams as Coach of the Year for her accomplishments during the 2023-24 regular season. In the same year Gracen Kerr was named 2023-24 SIAC Player of the Year as she was named SIAC Player of the Week four times. Taleah Dilworth was named to the SIAC Second Team.
Williams played two season (2018-2020) at Kentucky State where she finished 8th in career assists (160) and the 2019 SIAC Women's Basketball Championship Runner-Up.
Prior to joining Kentucky State Williams played for Monroe College where she averaged 13.0 points and 4.4 rebounds with 118 assists. She received awards for being the best free throw shooter and made Second Team NJCAA All-Academic Second Team and received her AA in Sports Management.
Williams graduated from Kentucky State University in 2020 where she was a scholar in Physical Education Department where she submitted two research projects to the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Williams is a native of Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
